Dear God
What is optimism? Well, I can’t think of a way to define it myself so I’m going to look it up on the good all Google.
According to Google; Optimism is the hopefulness and confidence about the future or successful outcome of something.
An optimist is someone filled with positive derived from the belief that the future is full of opportunities to be incredibly successful. The counterpart to Optimism is pessimism, which is what I think I am. No, I don’t think I am, I know am a pessimist. More less so now than I was a month ago or even a week ago.
I just got out of church and today’s sermon blew me away. The topic was anxiety, how we do it to ourselves, and how to cast your anxious thoughts onto God. Side note, twenty hours ago I started writing this blog, but I stopped. Why did I stop you ask? Because I let my pessimism, anxiety and negativity take over. I told myself “you don’t know what to write” and that led to “Everyone’s gonna shit on your writing.” For some reason the biggest thought it led to was “your boss will read it and you’ll be fired”
I loved that anxiety was the sermon today. The pastor preaching it shared deeply about his battle with anxiety and pessimism. How humbling is that? How amazing
